Smoking Timber makes hardwood BBQ tools designed for heat, smoke, and real outdoor cooking—built in Texas, not overseas.
Smoking Timber started because most BBQ tools didn’t last.
After going through cheap bamboo tools that warped, split, and failed under real heat, we started building our own here in Decatur, Texas—using solid hardwood, not glued strips.
Everything we sell is built and tested the same way we cook: over real fire.

We build and finish each piece in Wise County using solid hardwood and practical designs meant for daily cooks—not display shelves.
Hardwood holds up better next to heat because it is denser and more stable. That means less warping, less edge breakdown, and a longer usable life next to fire and cast iron.
Thicker hardwood keeps tools from snapping at the neck—the most common failure point when stirring, scraping, or flipping over heat.
Grain orientation controls how force moves through the tool. Aligning the grain properly helps prevent cracking, twisting, and split edges during heavy use.
Smoking Timber uses solid walnut and maple to avoid those failure points and build tools that can be re-oiled and used for years.
That difference shows up quickly when you're cooking over real heat.
